Sunlight, traveling at 186,000 miles/second, takes about 8 minutes to travel the distance from the sun to the earth. The formula for energy (E = MC squared) states that the potential energy in any object is equal to its mass times the speed of light squared. These fish are metaphors. Symbols of an unimaginable velocity, an inconceivable power and the relationship between a universal constant and what lies beyond.

*Note: I used an acrylic 'glow-in-the-dark' paint that dries clear yellow to add an additional dimension. Where each of the large painted fish are I incorporated the number 186,000 (one number in each yellow fish). The numbers glow for about 15 minutes.  1997.
