Dexter Jones Award

National Sculpture Society

August 10, 2001

Scott McNeill-  On behalf of the Education Committee of the National Sculpture Society, I am delighted to inform you that you are the recipients of the 2001 Dexter Jones Award.

This is the inaugural year of the award, which will be given annually to a young sculptor for a bas-relief.

The award is given in memory of the late Dexter Jones (1926-1986), who was a professional member and fellow of the National Sculpture Society.  In addition to being an accomplished sculptor of portraits and works in the round, Mr. Jones created many outstanding bas-reliefs in his lifetime.

If you don’t mind we would like to publish an image of “Aqua Boogie in the NSS News Bulletin and on the NSS website.  In order to do so, we will need to hold on to your slides for a few weeks.

A certificate and check in the amount of $1,000 will be sent to you within a month, with the return of your slides.

Thank you for your submission and congratulations!
